Fisher-Price has launched the Sterimax Steam Steriliser with the aim of it being the safest on the market in the UK. To borrow a well-known phrase, here comes the science bit: the Sterimax has been developed in conjunction with the microbiology department of a leading university, who subjected it to a stringent test procedure before it went into production. The Fisher-Price Sterimax uses a ‘dual power’ heating system, which ensures the unit heats rapidly and remains hotter for longer, killing more bacterial spores. The boffins at Fisher-Price concluded that the longer the steriliser stays at 100 degrees, the more bacteria spores would be destroyed.
‘Dual power’ heating system means a hotter, longer sterilisation cycle to kill more bacteria and make it the safest on the UK market; can hold 7 bottles; contents stay sterile for up to 8 hours if the unit remains unopened, LED digital display shows where you’re up to in the sterilisation and cooling cycles
